Def Leppard

If you're looking for good old fashion rock and roll that's fun to listen to, look no further than Def Leppard. For more than 20 years, the Leps have made great, melodic music. Enduring endless amounts of tragedy, the band keeps cranking out great album after great album. From heavy rockers to great power ballads (a form they perfected), Def Leppard always offers a sonic treat.

Discography

Def Leppard's first album, On Through The Night is the world's first look at the Leps. A hard hitting, heavy album, On Throught The Night shows a youthful Def Leppard, unpolished but with endless amounts of energy. On Through The Night features original guitarist Pete Willis paired with Steve Clark.

"Hello America" was the Leps first single, barely cracking the British charts. Other notable tracks include "Sorrow Is A Woman" and It Could Be You.

High 'n' Dry, the Leps second album, is another album album full of heavy guitars and fast rockers. The first of many albums produced by Mutt Lange, High 'n' Dry begins Def Leppard's long climb to the top of the rock world. While the album is heavy, you can hear the melodic Def Leppard sound beginning to develop.

Strong tracks include Another Hit And Run, High 'N' Dry (Saturday Night), Mirror Mirror (Look Into My Eyes), and Bringin' On The Heartbreak, the first of many memorable Def Leppard power ballads and the song that broke them in America.

One of rock's seminal albums, Pyromania made Def Leppard huge stars worldwide. The second album helmed by Mutt Lange, Pyromania marks the departure of guitarist Pete Willis. Phil Collen, Willis' replacement, brings a new, more melodic sound to the band.

Memorable tracks? How about "Rock of Ages", "Foolin'" or "Too Late For Love" or the Lep's ode to Marilyn Monroe, "Photograph".

Hysteria is arguably Def Leppard's best album. Unfortunately, it was also marred by the first of two major tragedies experienced by the band when drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident. Neverless, the band pushed on with album, and perfected the Def Leppard sound. Featuring melodic hooks, killer riffs, harmonized vocals, and strong songwriting, Hysteria is Def Leppard's best selling album to date.

Among the many great tunes, "Animal", "Pour Some Sugar On Me", "Love Bites", "Hysteria", and "Love And Affection" stand out.

Unfortunately, bad karma struck twice and Def Leppard faced yet another tragedy when guitarist Steve Clark passed away. The band carried on, however, and recorded Adrenalize as a four-piece. Adrenalize continues the Def Leppard sound, with catchy tunes and fun songs.

"Let's Get Rocked", "Make Love Like A Man", "Stand Up (Kick Love Into Motion)", and "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" are great tracks.

Retroactive is a collection of B-sides, soundtrack singles, and cover tunes recorded during the Hysteria and Adrenalize sessions. It also marks the first recording with Vivian Campbell, Steve Clark's replacement

Retroactive features a diverse mix of music including "Desert Song", "Fractured Love", "I Wanna Be Your Hero". And no Def Leppard album would be comete without the ballads, and the Leps record two strong ones in "Miss You In A Heartbeat" and "Two Steps Behind".

After another long break from the studio, Def Leppard returns with Slang, the first full length studio album with Vivian Campbell and the first studio album without any songs written or produced with Mutt Lang. Slang features a very different sound for the Leps. Released during the height of the grunge period, Slang offers some of the Leps heaviest tunes since High 'n' Dry. Many of the songs have a definite 90s grunge sound to it, yet are clearly Def Leppard songs. Not quite as overproduced as their previous albums, Slang was critically acclaimed but commercially disappointing and underappreciated by Def Leppard fans. Notable tracks include "Truth", "Work It Out", "Breathe A Sigh" and "Blood Runs Cold".

Def Leppard is back and they're better than ever. After a commercially disappointing (although critically acclaimed) last effort with Slang, Euphoria marks Def Leppard's return to doing what they do best - killer hooks, catchy riffs, and vocal harmonies. Euphoria marks the completion of the "IA" album trilogy.

Strong tracks include "Promises", "Goodbye", "It's Only Love", and "Guilty".
